This is a scene I have painted several times over the years along Hwy 1 near my home north of San Antonio, New Mexico. I pass this tree every day. In the past month, I noticed the long, sweeping low branch of the old cottonwood tree has collapsed , fallen to the ground. I found this little plein air painting, done a couple of years ago , and brightened and renewed the scene.. showing a bit more of the surrounding of the nearby ditch and an old barn. I'm going to miss that old branch!
